Marie Ertner

Associate Professor, PhD. Ertner studies welfare technologies for older people, such as voice-enabled technologies and smarthomes. Her research focuses on the social, technical and embodied infrastructures in and for elderly care and policies of ageing. She studies practices of digitalization, ageing and care as interrelated and explores the effects of such practices - ethico-political, affective and material – on people and practices. With an interdisciplinary background in Digital Design, Science & Technology Studies and Humanistic Ageing research, her research combines ethnography and design methods for inquiry.
